Tournament Policy

Tournaments

Coaches and teams are required to be at their respective court no later than 1 hour before their scheduled first match of the day.  If you are assigned a reffing assignment first, you must be at your court no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled match.  If your team has a bye first with no assignment you are still required to be there 1 hour before your scheduled match.  This will allow ample time for issues known and unknown that may arrive as well as allow the team to be ready mentally and physically to compete. When your team is assigned to ref players must know their assigned roles for both the first, second and possible third set before the match starts. All players on the team must remain court side while your team is the work team.  Be attentive and focused on your responsibility as we expect the same from others when we are competing.  All tournaments require a coach to be at the worktable though some allow you to be court side. If possible both coaches should try to help work to allow more girls to warm-up. When your team is off the team should find another IVC volleyball team to cheer on unless they are eating.  The team must stay together except for the following exceptions: You have a sibling playing on a different court and your coach approves it. 2) You are spending time with extended family in town to watch you play and your coach approves it. The entire team should be back at their court no later than 15 points into the second set.  Once the match is over all players should be ready to warm-up immediately after the court is open to do so. At NO point are you allowed to leave the tournament facility during competition.  Teams should also remain together through the tournament day.  You should never be alone except for bathroom breaks. Phone policy during tournaments.  Players are allowed to have their phones the first 20 minutes of break between matches when they have no assignment.  It should ideally be used to promote team bonding such as listening to music or playing a game together.  If you are the work team all players will not use their phones regardless of if they are working that set or not. Players are required to bring ALL their gear to every tournament day regardless of the color teams choose beforehand. Players are required to wear something over their spandex when they are going to and leaving a tournament. The buddy system is in place at all times, if you go anywhere, you must have a buddy! If you're going to the bathroom in the middle of a game, a parent will be your buddy.

Playing Time

Playing Time

Playing time is always a sensitive issue in team sports. The purpose of IVC Volleyball Club's playing time policy is to document and communicate the club-wide guidelines in advance to ensure that those who commit to the Club understand what factors will be used to determine playing time over the course of the season.

Our Club has also established a process whereby a player/parent can raise concerns, if they believe the coach is not implementing the policy consistently on their respective team (set forth in the player/parent contract). Whereas "league"-level sports programs advocate “equal playing time”, our Club does not advocate equal playing time, rather “earned playing time."  However, the Club does believe that all players should receive equal training opportunities at practice.

In volleyball, there are four (4) types of games – scrimmages, pool-play, playoffs/medal-brackets, and BIDS/qualifiers. Playing time during all portions of any match is always at the discretion of the coach.  The factors below will be used to determine playing time:

1. Ability to execute during competition

2. Ability to perform specific skills needed or play a specific position during competition

3. Performance in practice (including skills, attitude and dedication)

4. Attendance/level of commitment to the team

5. Overall contribution, in whatever capacity, to the success of the team

Athletic propensity dictates what position a person plays, her performance in practice dictates how and when she will be used in tournaments. Another factor that may influence court time is how she adds to or distracts from the team's performance as compared to a teammate who plays the same position. During a tournament (i.e. game-day), coaches are constantly adjusting and evaluating line-ups, which means that some players will receive more court time than others.  Players are expected to understand and accept their role as defined by the coach and concede that the collective performance of the collective team has priority over the individual player. Under no circumstances is it permissible for a parent or player to approach a coach during competition or at a tournament site to discuss playing time. Parents and players are required to wait 24 hours after the last tournament day before initiating any type of communication with a coach regarding playing time issues.  If a player is concerned or unclear about her role on the team, she should initiate a meeting with her coach to discuss the matter either before or after practice. Coaches will meet with players during the season to discuss each player's role on the team and to set individual goals.

Facility and Costs

Facility

Infinity Volleyball Club takes pride in being the only club in the area with our own facility. As our club grows that does mean we cannot always promise that each team will get a spot to practice at the facility. We do rent church and school gyms to accommodate some teams and/or coach's preferences for practice times/days.  Having our own facility does guarantee that we have year-round access to a court with more convenient times AND we are able to hold summer camps, clinics, and leagues that better fit our customers' busy lifestyles.

NEW FACILITY OPENING IN WHITEHOUSE IN ADDITION TO OUR BULLARD LOCATION!!!!! PLANS TO BE READY BY November 1st.

COSTS:  Club costs vary per team. See the plan below to get an idea of what prices will be for next season. Please note that these are subject to change depending on the economic situation. We have really tried our best to keep prices low so that more families can afford club volleyball in these difficult times but please understand that when shipping prices, hotel fees, and gas prices go up that does affect our club prices.

IVC CLUB Info Cont...

Monthly Gym Membership

See the link below to get a good understanding of how we will be implementing a monthly member fee to all athletes that play for IVC. We have really worked hard to try to keep your team dues down while taking into consideration the raising prices of today’s economy. This new monthly plan will help us in many ways be able to provide you with our best services plus give your athlete access to many things that IVC offers before we open it to the public. If you have any questions, please contact ivccoachmindy@gmail.com.  https://www.canva.com/design/DAE8ADc5J68/J6cMBSF3q6VYzAwMN6c96A/view?utm_content=DAE8ADc5J68&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink

Top Team vs Second Team

At IVC we are proud to have enough athletes to be able to provide two (sometimes 3) options in each age group. Much like an A team and B team at the school level. We do not make teams that we feel are not competitive (meaning we do not just take everyone that pays). Our biggest age groups are the 13-14U because at that age/grade level the athletes like to dabble in many activities to see where their passion lies. We feel like these athletes deserve a place to learn and grow their skills and we are excited that we are able to provide the community this opportunity.     FOR FUTURE RECRUITING PURPOSES we have decided to add the words National, Regional, Club, Local.

Contracts

Once tryouts are over there will be offer letters sent to your email stating what position IVC is offering your athlete. Once you accept the contract terms your athlete will be a member of IVC. This will officially last until the NTR/USAV Bid Championship date. Meaning, they will not be able to start playing with one club and then go to a different club mid-season. They would be ineligible unless released by the club director. You can read further into this situation on the USAV/NTR Volleyball website.

Practices

Each team 13U and up will receive around 3-4 hours of practice per week. We work hard to provide a practice plan and environment that suits the team. However, there are only so many days in the week and the coaches also have regular everyday jobs that may not allow them to coach practices on certain days. We will be trying to incorporate more scrimmage time into our practice plans. Each team will not be guaranteed 4 entire hours of a private team practice. Please understand that as the season progresses teams will be in and out of the gym due to various conflicts meaning more private practice time will become available. We will be matching your team up with a like level team(s) to provide ample scrimmage opportunities and this will also give your athlete a chance to hear feedback from multiple coaches besides their own.

Coaches

At IVC we value our Coaches!!! All of them have regular everyday jobs and coaching is a passion that they do on the side. They are compensated for their time and travel expenses.

COVID-19 Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club Protocol

Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club athletes and families: Our staff and coaches are taking the health and safety of our athletes seriously. Please note that the actions below are a sample of the full efforts we are taking to operate our facilities safely.

· COVID-19 safety training for all staff and coaches has been issued to each in detail.

· Hygiene and social distancing reminder signage in the facility.

· Head count limits to avoid unnecessary bodies in the facility, example: One parent per athlete.

· Assigned staff roles to manage facility head count, customer service and disinfection routines.

· Cleaning of the facility, equipment, and frequently contacted areas (such as door handles).

· Hand washing/Sanitizing, proper hydration and social distancing encouraged wherever possible.

COVID-19 Protocol for Athletes:

✓ Daily Self-Check. Athletes (clients) participating at IVC Facility practices, training or other events, will acknowledge and agree to by action of their entry into the facility the waiver found at the end of this document. This includes a self-check of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
✓ Temperature will be taken with infrared thermometer upon arrival. Denial of entrance if temperature is 100.4 or above.
✓ Physical Distancing when not training (water breaks).
✓ Personal Protective Equipment, such as masks, are optional for athletes.
✓ Hand washing/Sanitizing upon entry to the facility is required.

COVID-19 Protocol for Staff and Coaches:

✓Daily Self Check.
✓ Physical Distancing.
✓ Personal Protective Equipment, such as masks, are required for coaches when close contact (checking Temperatures) until further notice.
✓ Temperature will be taken with infrared thermometer upon arrival. Denial of entrance if temperature is 100.4 or above.
✓ Hand washing/Sanitizing upon entry to the facility is required.

We reserve the right to ask anyone in the facility to leave if they jeopardize the health or safety of others.

Preventative Measures

· Most importantly, if you have a respiratory illness or fever, please stay home.

· Avoid contact with sick people (if you’re sick, limit contact with others).

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

· Cover your nose and mouth with something disposable (like a tissue) when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

· Clean frequently touched items (cell phones, airplane seating area -tray table, screens, windows, arm rests, air vents, etc.).

· Clean your hands often by washing them with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at 60%–95% alcohol. Soap and water should be used if hands are visibly dirty.

· It is especially important to clean hands after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose.

· Bring extra hand sanitizer with you to all events.

The below is our plan in preparation for indoor activities.  Governor Abbott addressed Texas this past week and has said that gyms and training facilities may re-open May 18. We will abide by his process to Open Texas. Until social distancing bands are lifted, we are not planning to run normal team practices or participating tournaments.  For now, we will only be running training clinics and lessons as we must stay at or below 25% occupancy of the Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club. If a coach would like to work with his/her team in groups of 4-6, they will need to schedule a time for this. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.  If any practices do take place, we will provide a sign up link for everyone on that team as we will need to keep track of who is in the gym and at what time and how many are participating.  Everyone, Coaches, Athletes, Parents, and Siblings will be REQUIRED to sign the COVID-19 Waiver.

What is the Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club doing to stop the spread?
Below are the Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club Policies for May and June. We will continue to re-evaluate our procedures

§ Operate at a reduced capacity as recommended by local officials.

§ Be in compliance with CDC guidelines to help stop the spread.

§ Facility Staff will check everyone’s temperature immediately upon entering the facility. We have three (2) non-contact infrared body thermometers. If we receive a reading above 100.4 degrees, we will check temperature again using the same thermometer and a 2nd thermometer. If we receive two (2) readings of 100.4 degrees that person will not be allowed to inside our facility or participate in events.

§ Infinity Sports Center / Infinity Volleyball Club Staff will collect all lesson fees at the  by electronic payment. We want to reduce the items handed off to our coaches.

§ Coaches are required to wash hands between each session (lesson, clinic, practice, etc).

§ Coaches have been provided Face Mask and is optional based on each coach.

§ Face covering are not required for athletes as we do not want to restrict their ability to breath and receive oxygen during their workouts.

§ We will disinfect volleyballs between events (lessons, clinics, practices, etc)

§ We will schedule a buffer time between sessions to allow time to disinfect the volleyballs

§ Facility staff is there to remind and ensure facility policies are being followed. Facility staff is advised to report all infractions s to us. We will not allow athletes to sign up for events or participate in practices if they or their family members do not comply with our policies.

§ We are continuing to look at other processes, technology and procurement of items to help with the disinfection of surfaces and areas in our facility. (UV Light System)
